Based on a sketch that a friend posted on my Facebook wall. I'm not sure who the original artist is, if you did this sketch, let me know so I can credit you.
Anyway I took the liberty of taking the original black and white sketch and digitally coloring it using my newly acquired copy of Adobe Photoshop CS5, painstakingly done by hand using the paint tool and a mouse. This took 6 hours. YOU BETTER FUCKING ENJOY IT
(P.S I was too lazy to white-out the pencil marks in the background. Drown me)

Yep, this is Marmaladejane's art. Nice to see a colored version of this pic. Think you'll consider coloring one of jane's pics of twilight?

Not bad for a first attempt. I'll assume it's your first. The style looks familiar, but I can't remember her name.

Anyway, it looks like you did all of it on one layer, judging by the tiny white spaces between the black and color. Like you drew the black first and then colored the spaces between it on the same layer as the sketch. Since you said you have Photoshop you could have opened the sketch in it, left it as a background layer and added the ink (the traced, black lines) on a layer above it and then the colors on a layer under the ink. That way you don't erase the black when you paint over the area on a layer under it. You could have saved yourself a lot of time trying to avoid the black lines.

It looks like you forgot her belt and cutie mark on her ... chest and her nostrils from the looks of it.

I don't particularly like anthros, but that's not for you. I'm just here for the colors. I see some areas I'd have colored differently like her eyes. But it does look interesting, her pupils pink and her iris white.

I've never used gimp, but I've also only started with Photoshop CS5 seven or eight months ago. So those are hardly protips, but you can always ask me if you want to know something about the tools or how to do something in it.
